Did you know that nearly every single plastic toothbrush made, is still out there in the world somewhere, living on as a piece of waste?
This is as good a reason as any, to make the switch from your plastic toothbrush to one made from bamboo.
The CINK kids bamboo toothbrush has a handle made of 100% biodegradable and sustainably grown bamboo. The bamboo is antibacterial and a rot-resistant material so it is very well suited for this purpose and is also compostable.
The quality bristles are made of soft, BPA-free nylon. The reason nylon is used for the bristles and not a biodegradable fibre is because there is yet to be a biodegradable fibre that is as effective when it comes to taking care of oral health.
If you choose to pull out the bristles, they can go into your plastic recycling.
CINK toothbrushes have been approved in accordance with the CE-standards and FDA regulations.
How To Dispose
As the bristles are not compostable you have to remove the bristles and dispose of them separately from the toothbrush handle.
There are two different methods to remove them:
- Pull them out with pliers
- Snap the whole toothbrush head off
The bristles can then go into your plastic recycling, but as they are so small and easily lost, we recommend first putting them inside another plastic item you are recycling, like food packaging or a bottle.
The handle of the toothbrush is 100% biodegradable, and can be disposed in an industrial composter, where it will break down in a few weeks. Or just put it in your home composter if you have one.
Even if you just throw it into your normal rubbish and the toothbrush ends up in landfill, it will still biodegrade in a few years.
